InterContinental Hotels Group, which owns brands such as Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza, has appointed Nina Bibby as its senior vice-president, worldwide brand management.

Bibby is a former associate director of the Henley Centre and joins IHG from the position of commercial strategy director at consumer goods company Diageo.

The hotels group is also promoting Stephen Powell, senior vice-president, sales and marketing Europe, Middle East & Africa, to the position of senior vice-president worldwide sales.

Both Bibby and Powell will report to IHG chief marketing officer Peter Gowers.

Gowers said: "Our global customers increasingly look to IHG to provide multi-brand, multi-country solutions to their travel needs. They also want their views clearly heard when it comes to designing our brands and simplifying the way we do business."
