Choice Hotels Europe recruits four new managers as part of £35m development plan

Choice Hotels Europe has appointed four new general managers as part of its £35m refurbishment and development plans.

Jason Petty has been made general manager of the Sleep Inn, Shrewsbury, which is due to open in August, while husband and wife team Ron and Jacquie Van Straalen will run the Comfort Inn in Thetford, Norfolk.

Mark Smith will head up the team at the 106-bedroom Quality Hotel in Snowdonia.

The group's £1.5m refit of the Quality Crown Hotel Kensington in London is nearly complete and it is set to re-launch in September.

The 82-bedroom property on Cromwell Road, which was formerly the Country Inns and Suites Kensington, has been completely redesigned and will now feature state-of-the-art technology, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi access and the W8 brasserie.
