Gondola Holdings, owner of PizzaExpress, Ask and Zizzi, has signed up Reynolds Catering Supplies to provide fresh produce to its restaurants in a £40m deal.

The two-year contract will see Reynolds, a family-owned company which already supplies Wagamama and Pret A Manager, supply more than 15 million tomatoes and 1,000 tonnes of mozzarella to Gondola’s 520 sites each year.

The distributor now takes responsibility for the procurement and supply of all fruit and vegetable products along with many diary lines for the group. It will also distribute cheese and meat products.

Established in 1989, Reynolds has an estimated 2006 turnover of £85m.
