Top-level changes announced at Fuller's
Pub operator Fuller's has made several promotions in preparation for the retirement of chairman Anthony Fuller at the group's annual general meeting next year.
Retail director Simon Emeny becomes managing director of Fuller's Inns, while beer and brands director John Roberts moves into the role of managing director of Fuller's Beer Company.
The two moves, which take immediate effect, will give current chief executive Michael Turner time to prepare for the new role of executive chairman when Fuller retires.
Fuller will stay on the company's board for another three years after his retirement as a non-executive director.
The group said that good weather and the World Cup had given it a strong start to the current financial year.
Like-for-like sales at its managed pub business grew 4.2% in the 16 weeks to 22 July.
The figures include the Gales pub business that Fuller's acquired in December for £91.8m, which was integrated into the Fuller's estate by early June.
