Fine-dining restaurant Entropy closes
Leicester-based fine-dining restaurant Entropy will close on 19 August, with founders Tom and Cassandra Cockerill claiming the city just wasn't ready for them.
The closure comes despite the restaurant gaining impressive critical acclaim since its launch in May 2004. Within nine months of opening it become only the second restaurant in Leicester to achieve two AA rosettes and was voted Best Newcomer of 2005 by the Which? Good Food Guide.
With the city earmarked for £5b worth of regeneration over the next five years, including major leisure, retail and office developments, the Cockerills predict the restaurant will return to Leicester - possibly within two years. Meanwhile, the pair will focus on the Entropy Bar, which opened in the city in 2000.
