Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has appointed a new managing director for its five star flagship hotel, the Macdonald Bath Spa.
Giorgio Borgonovo, who has worked for Macdonald hotels for the past seven years, will spearhead the re-launch of the hotel following its 18-month, £10m refurbishment.
Borgonovo has 35 years of industry experience, having previously worked at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London and the Excelsior Gallia Hotel in Milan.
Borgonovo said of the appointment: “It is a fantastic opportunity and great privilege. I look forward to building on the hotel’s successes to date.”
David Guile, Macdonald deputy chief executive, said: “Giorgio’s high standards and eye for detail will ensure that the Macdonald Bath Spa takes its rightful place amongst the finest hotels in Europe.”
