Windhoek is brewed in accordance with Reinheitsgebot, the German purity law of 1516. It is described as having a mild bitterness and a striking golden colour, and its smoothness makes it a suitable accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes. It is particularly popular in South Africa, where tastes are thought to be very similar to those of the UK consumer.
