Pubs 'n' bars makes solid start to the year
Pubs 'n' Bars has made a "satisfactory" start to the year, with new acquisitions made in the second half of 2005 boosting turnover and profit.
Turnover in the six months to 30 June 2006 increased 9.5% to £7.67m (from £7m in 2005), and pre-tax profit was 2.2% up year-on-year at £497,226 (£486,246 in 2005).
Pubs 'n' Bars' estate comprises 67 pubs, of which 30 are freehold. It disposed of one loss-making leasehold site during the period.
It continues to manage 29 pubs for Community Taverns and others, and reiterated its enthusiasm to take on additional management contracts.
