Hilton has launched its 15th London hotel with the opening of the London Tower Bridge yesterday.

The four-star, 245-bedroom property will focus predominately on the corporate market and has conference and banqueting space for up to 400 delegates.

It also has a business centre and signature restaurant and bar on the ground level.

Hilton says the hotel is only the second to open in the ancient borough of Southwark since 1840.

In recognition, hotel general manager Guy Klaiman invited members of the Southwark Court Leet, an ancient feudal council whose powers date back to 1189, to conduct a court session at the building and hold a traditional ale tasting before handing over the ceremonial key to London Mayor Ken Livingstone.
