Starbucks to introduce cashless payment system

Starbucks will introduce a cashless payment system into its UK stores next month.

Customers will be able to load a Starbucks card up with any amount from £2 to £150 by registering at www.starbucks.co.uk.

The coffee giant hopes it will be a convenient way for customers to pay for their daily caffeine hit.

It is also due to be rolled out in the USA, Canada, Australia and Thailand and as part of the service, UK consumers will be able to use their card internationally.

Starbucks has announced plans to expand its number of worldwide stores from a previous target of 30,000 to 40,000.
