Latest NewsCopthorne Hotel Cardiff named carbon champion(12 October 2006 17:17)The Copthorne Hotel Cardiff has been named as a Green champion by the organisers of the 100 Days of Carbon Clean Up initiative. Run by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), with backing from the Carbon Trust, the campaign challenged companies to clean up their act over 100 days (from 5 June to 12 September). More than 550 organisations took part filling out a carbon summary form at the start of the challenge to track their progress in reducing carbon emissions. The Copthorne was recognised at an awards do at London’s Olympia last night for saving the greatest percentage of carbon over the period. In the period, the four-star hotel reduced its carbon emissions by 10.2%, saving money and helping the environment. Article continues below
