New to the UK market from Dutch company Mobilane is Green Screen, a plant product designed to provide instant hedging, no matter how urban the setting. For the leisure and hospitality markets it can be used to screen off areas for wedding photographs, private functions, open-air dining, entertainment areas, walkways, refuse container areas, car parks and to provide privacy for ground-floor rooms. The plants - a choice of evergreen ivy, deciduous beech or hornbeam - can be either rooted in a biodegradable coconut fibre trough that's put directly into the ground, or established in wooden troughs placed on the surface and can subsequently be moved as required. They grow up a 5mm weldmesh screen 1.2m or 1.8m high to form a hedge which can then be trimmed as required.
