Hilton to open new Liverpool property

Hilton is to develop its first hotel in Liverpool, a new full service property in the £900m-Liverpool One retail development.

The 216-bedroom, eight-storey hotel will also include 10 meeting rooms, a ballroom, restaurant and a LivingWell Express.

Howard Friedman, Hilton area president for UK and Ireland said: "The signing of the agreement marks yet another significant step forward for Hiltons' development throughout the UK and Ireland and we are delighted to be part of Liverpool's exciting future."

The group has agreed a management contract with developer Grosvenor to take effect when the hotel opens in 2008, during the city's year as European Capital of Culture.
