London's Dorset Square hotel wins Condé Nast award

London’s Dorset Square has won guide publisher Condé Nast Johansens UK and Ireland best London hotel title, at its annual awards for excellence.

The Marylebone-based property was praised for its tranquil surroundings and personalised service, as well as its feel for style and warmth.
 
Also honoured was Michelin pub of the year the Bell at Skenfrith, Monmouthshire, which picked up the best inn accolade, and the Hoste Arms in Norfolk, which was hailed as best restaurant.

Other winners included Pennyhill Park in Bagshot, Surrey (best spa), Bodysgallen Hall and Spa in North Wales (best country hotel), and the Nare in Cornwall (best coastal hotel).

The award for outstanding service went to the Atlantic hotel in the Channel Islands, which was praised for its “impressive standards of presentations and service” that reach “beyond most expectations”.

The excellence award for the best hotel in Europe went to Hotel Urban in Madrid, which won the day with its “spectacular interiors” and “impeccable service”.
