First-time buyers for food-led Somerset inn(23 November 2006 00:00)First-time licensees David and Linda Underdown are the new owners of the Olde Forge Inn, a food-led pub in the Somerset village of Curry Rivel, near Langport. The Grade II-listed thatched building, built from local blue lias stone, was converted into a bar and restaurant 30 years ago when an impressive vault (now a dining area) was uncovered. The property incorporates a bar, a 40-seat restaurant, a 20-seat cellar restaurant, and a three-bedroom attached thatched cottage. The Bristol office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £430,000 on behalf of Paul and Carol Burns. Article continues below
