Ian Donald, operations director at IRC, will continue in his role at the enlarged business, as will Bank's Robert Breare, who will assume the position of non executive on completion of the deal. Breare said: “This acquisition represents the ‘acquisition of scale’ which we have been striving to achieve over the past months pursuant to our publicly stated strategy.” Future plans for the business will see at least six Piccolinos, of which there are currently 12, opened a year. It is also likely that Bank's Zinc chain will be assimilated into IRC's The Restaurant Bar & Grill brand, which currently trades from four units.
