Compass Group announces board changes as profit and turnover climbs
Compass Group has announced several changes to its board at its full-year results presentation today.
Sir Ian Robinson, chairman of Ladbrokes (previously Hilton Group) and a non-executive chairman at Scottish & Newcastle, joins the Compass board as a non-executive director from 1 January 2007.
Gary Green, who runs the company's operations in North America, is promoted to the board as executive director, as of the start of January.
Chairman Sir Roy Gardener said: "Since becoming chairman I have been looking at the skills required to meet the future needs of the business.
The appointment in June of Richard Cousins as group chief executive and today's announcement are part of a process of reinvigorating the Compass Group board."
After seven years on the board non-executive director Val Gooding steps down at the end of the year.
Group pre-tax profit in the year ended 30 September 2006 was up 9.7% at £374m (2005: £341m) with group turnover 7% higher at £10.8b.
