Visit London recruits new head of business and conventions ahead of Olympic Games

Visit London, the marketing organisation for the capital, has recruited Tracy Halliwell as head of business and conventions.

Halliwell, who will take up her new post in February, was vice-president of sales and marketing at Millennium & Copthorne Hotels for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Visit London sees the meetings and events sector as one of the key areas that will benefit long-term from the 2012 Olympics and is focusing its efforts on the area accordingly.

Halliwell said: "With the 2012 Olympic Games coming to London, this is a fantastic moment for the city. London is a world-class capital and its offering looks set to improve further as new services and facilities come on stream in the run up to 2012."
