Hotels in the West Midlands saw revenue per available room (revpar) fall by 2.1% during the month of September.

Revpar dropped to £56.73, down from £57.94 in September 2005, according to figures from hotel benchmarking service The Bench.

Occupancy decreased by 0.8 percentage point to 76.9% while average room rate declined by 1.1% to £73.81, compared with £74.63 in September 2005.

The Bench - which is partnered with US firm Smith Travel Research - provides online benchmarking data for in excess of 34,000 hotels in more than 400 markets.
