Domino's seeks 800 extra Christmas staff

Domino's Pizza has today launched a recruitment drive to attract 800 new employees to work during the festive season.

Patricia Thomas, director of operations, said the move was to ensure that their pizza delivery service standards remained high in the busiest time of the year.

She added: "Many of our high-flying team members began working with us on a part-time basis. Some now even own stores through our franchising scheme."

The company's position in the market continues to grow. System sales across the group's 428 stores in the UK and Ireland grew from £97.1m to £114.8m during the half-year to 2 July and 2006 has seen 21 new stores open.
