McDonald's to launch new Irish outlets
McDonald's has revealed plans to open 12 new restaurants in Ireland over the next three years. Particular areas to be targeted are County Wexford and County Clare, where the company plans to open its first outlets. These developments will run alongside plans to refurbish up to 12 outlets each year as part of the company's "programme".
Emirates and lastminute.com join forces
Emirates has joined forces with online hotel intermediary lastminute.com. The airline will provide customers with access to more than 100,000 three, four and five-star properties in 59 countries via its website. The service will give customers access to city and resort-based hotels for an initial 18 months.
Starbucks new headquarters in ShanghaiStarbucks has been strengthening operational control in Greater China by establishing new Shanghai regional headquarters. The new Shanghai office will allow the coffee giant to maintain tighter control over all its outlets in the country. Starbucks said it expects China to eventually become its second-largest market outside of the USA.
Aramark gains new German contracts Aramark has won two new clients in the business and industry segment in Germany, including Huttinger Elektronik in Freiburg. The company will prepare breakfast, approximately 200 lunches and additional snacks, which will be delivered to employees' desks. In the healthcare and seniors segment, Aramark has won the contract to provide catering at the Waldkrankenhaus St. Marien in the city of Erlangen, catering for up to 300 patients.
Hilton in joint venture to conquer ChinaHilton, RREEF and private equity firm H&QAP have formed a partnership to acquire, develop and convert sites for around 5,000 new rooms in China. These hotels will be introduced under Hilton's service hotel brand, Hilton Garden Inn. Hilton will provide expertise in site selection, development, training, operations support, brand management and marketing. Locations being considered for the 20+ hotels include Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin.
