London halal restaurant bookings surge

Bookings at halal restaurants in London have risen by a massive 322% this year, research has revealed.

Online bookings service toptable.co.uk analysed reservations between January and October 2006 and found halal restaurants recording the biggest leap.

Bookings at Indian restaurants were up by 73%, with Mexican restaurants rising by 69%.

Specialist steak restaurants saw a 66% increase in bookings, while vegetarian restaurants were up by 38%.
