Gwyn Jones has quit as chief executive of EasyCruise after the company announced plans to relocate its head office.

Jones, who was managing director of P&O Cruises until its demerger from P&O Group in 2000, only joined the start-up cruise company in May.

He said EasyCruise’s decision to relocate its centre of operations from Monaco to Athens next year made it an opportune time to hand over to a Greek management team.

Recently appointed finance director Stelios Panagiotou will head up the Athens office until a general manager can be appointed.

The EasyCrusieOne liner will be based in Greece from the summer of 2007.

EasyCruise will continue to have a marketing company based in the UK headed by Paul Ellerby.
