Contract caterer Holroyd Howe added 14 clients to its books and boosted pre-tax profit by 50% in 2006, the independent has announced.

In the year to 30 September, the business went from 92 to 106 contracts and pre-tax profit grew from £638,000 to £955,000. Turnover grew by 30% to £34.7m over the same period.

The group also appointed Jeremy Woods as a regional director for the north of England to help its drive for new business in the region. He previously worked as operations director for key accounts at Sodexho.

Joint managing director Rick Holroyd told Caterer: “It’s been a very buoyant year. The market is very well-stacked in favour of medium-sized caterers at the moment. We are robust enough to take on financially challenging contracts but still have the capacity to add value as a niche operator.”
