Crerar Hotels in five hotel management deal

Hotel group Crerar hotels has snapped up the management contracts for five hotels in England and Scotland.

The deal, agreed with PRUPIM, the asset management arm of Prudential, takes the group's portfolio to 33 properties, worth more than £160m.

Crerar will manage and operate the Golf View hotel in Nairn; the Old Manor in Lundin Links; the Learmonth hotel in Edinburgh; the Hotel St Nicholas in Scarborough and the Plough & Harrow in Birmingham.

Chief executive, Paddy Crerar, said he would consider further expansion given the right opportunity but added: "What I want to focus on now is consolidating the estate, getting the staff fully on board with our way of working and producing the results that I know they are capable of through proper support and investment."

In November last year, the group signed a deal to manage and operate 13 former London and Edinburgh Swallow Inn properties.
