Latest NewsMoD awards Elior UK £92m catering deal(24 January 2007 14:19)The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded a £92m catering contract to Elior UK, it was announced today. Under the terms of the seven-year deal, the caterer’s Avenance Defence Contracts Division will provide catering and “soft” facilities management services for 18,000 army personnel and the wider military community. Avenance will employ 1,200 staff to service the contract, which will run from 1 April until 31 March 2013 with options to extend the contract for a further three years. The annual expected turnover is approximately £13m per year. The contract encompasses catering, hotel, leisure and retail services and soft facilities management services which include accommodation cleaning, tailoring, laundry and waste disposal.
