The Authentic Food Company, established in 1985 as Authentic Indian Foods, goes native with the new Authentic British brand of ready-meals. It aims to capitalise on research that suggests British cuisine is the first choice in 84% of all eating-out occasions. The new range contains four meat-based meals that come in single-person servings - lamb shank in minted gravy (420g), Cumberland sausages in sage and onion gravy (350g), beef stew and dumplings (340g), and liver and onions in gravy (372g). They can be reheated in simmering water in 12-15 minutes from chilled or 20-25 minutes from frozen. The British meals join the existing line-up of Indian, Oriental, Tex-Mex, Mediterranean, gastropub and children's meals.
