Hotel company Golden Tulip UK has promoted Andrew Silver to the new post of managing director.
A member of the company's management board since launch in 2002, Silver was commercial director.
Silver, who has worked as group commercial sales manager at Swallow Hotels in the past, was hotels director at Virgin Travelstore before joining Golden Tulip.
The company currently has seven hotels in the UK with six more set to open within the next 18 months. The company aims to operate 25 hotels by 2009.
Silver will work alongside Golden Tulip UK chief executive Peter Roberts.
Roberts said: "We have reached an important stage in the development of the Tulip Inn and Golden Tulip brands and this new structure will ensure our ambitious expansion programme is maintained."
