Jamie Oliver is the Essex-born celebrity chef whose media career has made him one of Britain’s most famous exports.
Jamie Oliver’s career as a TV chef, author and the public face of supermarket giant Sainsbury kicked off at the age of 21 when his star quality was discovered in a TV documentary on the London restaurant scene.
But it has been Jamie Oliver’s philanthropic approach to his profession that has kept him in the public spotlight for so long.
He has opened four restaurants under the Fifteen brand (in London, Cornwall, Amsterdam and Melbourne) that are dedicated to training disadvantaged youngsters from scratch through the Fifteen Foundation and local partnerships.
More recently, Jamie Oliver has played a major role in highlighting the nutritional deficiencies in school meals and in shaming the Government into allocating more resources to the sector.
