A new company has been set up to supply a range of sauce-coated and quick-frozen prawns which can be taken directly from the freezer in the required portion size and do not need to be defrosted or deglazed before pan-frying, microwaving or oven-baking. Accolade Food Manufacturers coats the prawns at its British Retail Consortium-approved factories in Grimsby for the newly created Sea Flavours. The range of coated prawns - all from sustainable sources - includes seasonal specialties such as brandy butter-sauced king prawns alongside more standard coatings such as garlic and herb. The partnership also offers battered and breaded prawns - such as the Champagne or garlic and cracked pepper-battered options and the breaded Cajun and Creole option - as well as filo, torpedo and butterfly king prawns. The sauce-coated, battered and breaded prawns are supplied in 1kg cases that contain 10 prawns per case.
