Northumbrian mineral water supplier Abbey Well has launched a new range of fruit-flavoured low-calorie drinks that are claimed to contain fewer than five calories per 250ml serving. The Abbey Well Fruits line-up is sweetened by sucralose, a chlorinated sucrose said to be twice as sweet as saccharin and four times sweeter than aspartame. The four flavours - citrus, peach and apricot in still mineral water and a peach and strawberry sparkling option - are sold in 330ml containers that have an ambient shelf life of 12 months.
