Cotswold House and Noel Arms for sale
The Cotswold House hotel and its sister property the Noel Arms in Chipping Campden are up for sale for an estimated £14.85m.
The 29-bedroom, double Catey-winning Cotswold House hotel has been put on the market for £12m by property agent Knight Frank, while the 26-bedroom Noel Arms, which has just received planning permission for a new spa facility, has a £2.85m price tag with Colliers Robert Barry.
Ian Taylor, who has run the properties with wife Christina for eight years, said: "Our plan was only ever to do a maximum of seven years. We've been trying to work out the right time to sell and, having just received planning for the spa, thought now might be good, while the hotel market is still strong.
"We feel we're ready for another challenge," Taylor added, "Something bigger, in a less rural location such as London, Oxford or Cambridge. We'd probably remain in the luxury market and wouldn't want more than about 70 beds as you lose the personal touch after that."
The Cotswold House has four red stars and three rosettes from the AA and was shortlisted this year as a Michelin Rising Star.
Von Essen hotels was rumoured to be interested in buying the Cotswold last month, but Taylor contacted Caterer to deny the speculation.
