Tottenham Hotspur FC snubs Marriott West India Quay hotel
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has confirmed the team will not be staying at the Marriott West India Quay hotel before this weekend's match with West Ham.
The hotel, in Canary Wharf, was where 10 Tottenham players claimed they were struck down by food poisoning on the eve of their visit to Upton Park on the final day of last season.
The hotel was subsequently cleared of any blame over the incident, but assistant manager Chris Hughton last night confirmed the players would be staying in a different hotel this time.
"It's safe to say we will be giving the Marriott a swerve this year," he said. "We are trying to draw a line under what happened last year but the team will certainly not need any motivation for Sunday's match."
