Trends & DataThe Bench: Scottish hotel performance in January 2007(08 March 2007 10:08)Hotels in Scotland boosted revenue per available room (revpar) by 11.5% during the month of January 2007. Revpar rose to £41.12, up from £36.88 in January 2006, according to figures from hotel benchmarking service The Bench. Occupancy grew by 2.8 percentage point to 60.4% while average room rate rose by 6.3% to £68.12, compared with £64.07 in January 2006. The January figures follow a positive performance in December 2006, when revpar increased by 8.3% to £46.23 compared with £42.70 in the same month of 2005. December occupancy grew by 2.2 percentage point to 63.7% while average room rate rose by 4.6% to £72.62, compared with £69.44 in December 2005.
