Aramark secures East-Anglia defence contract worth £58.4m
Food service company Aramark has secured a seven year contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) worth £58.4m over the full term.
The contract, which went live in January, includes catering, retail and leisure provision and the opportuity to extend another three years to ten in total.
It comprises military installations in the East-Anglia region comprising ATR Bassingbourn, DISC Chicksands, Carver Barracks Wimbish and Waterbeach Station.
Aramark will also see the transition to and roll-out of the MoD's Pay As You Dine, which starts in May.
Neil Shoreder, business development director for Aramark's Defence team, said: "As well as delivering an improved service, we also look forward to refining our understanding of the rapidly changing defence market."
Aramark already ooperated at Watersbeach Station.
In January rival Elior UK's Avenance Defence Contracts Division won a £92m deal to provide catering and "soft" facilities management services for 18,000 army personnel and the wider military community.
