Government approves HCIMA rebranding
The Hotel & Catering International Management Association (HCIMA) will be renamed the Institute of Hospitality from next month, after receiving Government approval.
The HCIMA revealed plans to rebrand in January after members voted in favour of such a move.
However it had still needed the go-ahead from the Department of Trade and Industry to complete the process, and this has now been received.
A formal submission to the Charity Commissioners for a change to the memorandum and articles of the association will now be made. A new identity and new logo will be launched later this spring.
HCIMA chief executive Phillipe Rossiter said: "The new name reinforces our position as an education provider."
The Institute of Hospitality, as the organisation will be known from 2 April, is the sponsor of this year's Caterer and Hotelkeeper Education and Training Catey award.
