Contract caterer Charlton House has won a five-year £8.5m contract to feed public and staff at the Law Society’s headquarters in London’s Chancery Lane.

The contract, which will generate £1.7m in annual turnover, will see Charlton House manage a commercial restaurant, bar and reading room from 1 April.

It will also run the society’s conferencing and banqueting services, as well as a staff refectory with a 250-person capacity.

Tim Jones, chairman of Charlton House, said: “We couldn’t ask for a more prestigious addition to our portfolio. This is a commercial contract, and we believe that our proven performance at other commercial contracts, such as the Royal Institute of British Architects, contributed to the Law Society’s decision to appoint us.”
