The Killin hotel, the largest hotel in the Perthshire village from which it takes its name, has been bought by Scottish hotelier Ian Hitchins.

Hitchins also owns the Ben Lawers hotel on Loch Tay, Aberfeldy.

The  Killin sits on the site of the old Streethouse Inn (a 17th century refreshment stop for the Aberfeldy-to-Tyndrum coach) on the banks of the River Lochay.

Along with 32 en-suite bedrooms, it provides a lounge bar, a 60-to-70-seat restaurant/function room, a public bar known as the Village Pub, staff accommodation and two-bedroom self-contained owners’ flat.

The Glasgow office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £650,000.
