Donald Trump to develop Trump International Hotel and Tower in Toronto
Billionaire property tycoon Donald Trump is to develop a Trump International Hotel and Tower in Toronto, the first move for the brand outside the USA.
Trump has teamed up for a joint venture in the Canadian city with Talon International Development for the $310m (£158m) project, which is part of a total development programme estimated at around $500m (£254m).
The 70-storey hotel will comprise 147 residences and 291 hotel rooms in the city's financial and entertainment district.
Upon completion, the Trump Organization will operate and manage the hotel, which will be the fourth Hotel & Tower development in the company's portfolio.
Zeidler Partnership Architects have been named designers for the 750,000 sq ft tower.
Austrian bank, Raiffeisen Zentralbank has provided the loan for the project, which is due to break ground later this year, but has already seen more than $250m (£127m) in pre-construction sales.
