Pizza Hut named best family restaurant award

Pizza Hut has been voted the "best family restaurant" for the second year running at the 2007 Tommy's Parent Friendly Awards.

The baby's charity awards, which are based on parental votes throughout the UK, judge companies on how parents' needs are accommodated and what provisions have been made to help make being out with children easier.

The pizza chain was found to have generous facilities for families such as highchairs and baby changing areas in the majority of its restaurants.

Pizza Hut was also the first UK restaurant group to enforce a blanket no-smoking policy across its portfolio.

The group does not market directly to children nor, since 2004, does it give away collectible toys with its meals. Instead, children are now given an educational activity sheet and crayons.

Scott Fairbairn, marketing manager at Pizza Hut, said: "We were honoured to be recognised as the best family restaurant."
