InterContinental and Travelodge have both signed agreements to launch hotels at the £200m redevelopment of the Morrison Street Goods Yard site in Haymarket, Edinburgh.

The deals, agreed with developer Tiger Developments, will result in a 160-room, four-star InterContinental Crowne Plaza hotel and a 200-room Travelodge.

The project, near the city’s financial district, will also feature 335,000sq ft (31,122sq m) of office space when it is completed in 2012.

Architects Richard Murphy, CDA and Sutherland Hussey have been appointed to design the development and a planning application will be submitted this June.
