Hotel du Vin granted planning permission for new Edinburgh hotel
Boutique hotel group Hotel du Vin has been granted planning permission for its new property in Edinburgh.
As reported in Caterer last June, Robert Cookpurchased the former blood transfusion centre in Edinburgh's Old Town for £2m and is planning to spend £8m refurbishing the property.
Work on the hotel will begin next month, with the opening scheduled for 2008.
The 47-property will feature a covered courtyard and the Hotel du Vin brand's trademark wine bar and restaurant.
The group has now invested more than £35m in Scotland over the last year.
