Pan-Asian restaurant chain Tasty has reported a pre-tax loss for 2006 blaming delayed openings of new sites for its performance.

The Dim T chain owner, which floated on the Alternative Investment Market last summer, said pre-tax loss for the 12 months to 31 December 2006 was £174,000 compared with a profit of £141,000 the previous year.

However, Tasty said it made a pre-tax profit before the exceptional costs of last years’ flotation of £82,000.

Turnover at the group rose 33% year-on-year to £2.68m.

Since its floatation the company has opened three new Dim T restaurants and plans to open a further two in the next two months bringing its total units in operation to eight.

Tasty is backed by Samuel and Adam Kaye the brains behind Ask and Zizzi, as well as their Catey winning father and Garfunkel’s creator Philip Kaye.
