Devonshire Arms boss to join De Vere Grand
Jeremy Rata is vacating his role as managing director of the Devonshire Arms Country House hotel and spa in Skipton, North Yorkshire.
The head of the Devonshire Arms is to move south to oversee the redevelopment of Brighton's only five-star hotel, the De Vere Grand.
Rata will depart the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire's Bolton Abbey estate in North Yorkshire, where the hotel nestles, in three months' time.
However, he will not sever links entirely with the property and will continue to work on their two-year advanced management programme as a mentor for participants.
Rata said: "Devonshire hotels and restaurants will continue to grow and my replacement is being sought to oversee the next stages of the company's development, which I shall watch with interest."
He is also chairman of the Academy of Food and Wine and chief judge alongside Bruce Poole (Chez Bruce) of the Young Chef Young Waiter initiative.
The Grand is to undergo a £20m refurbishment.
