Two more FishWork directors quit

Two more directors at restaurant chain and fishmonger FishWorks have quit as its new owners attempt to restructure the struggling business and turn its fortunes around.

Non-executive directors Nicholas Stanley and Antony Fisher, who were part of the management team that steered FishWorks to a successful listing on the Alternative Investment Market in 2005, have today resigned.

Non-executive director David Singleton has joined the company with immediate effect. He is also chairman of train manufacturer UK Loco.

Gary Ashworth, who was appointed as non-executive chairman of FishWorks in February as part of a rescue deal, said: "FishWorks has now embarked on a new phase with a clear direction, the right management team and strong financial controls."

FishWorks is currently carrying out a review of its restaurant sites after losses in the previous year ballooned following a turbulent period that saw its chairman and finance director quit.
