Arora International boss named Eastern Eye's Entrepreneur of the Year

Arora International boss Surinder Arora has been named KPMG's Entrepreneur of the Year at the 11th annual Eastern Eye Business Awards 2007.

Surinder Arora received the prestigious accolade at an awards ceremony in London early this week, held in the presence of the Duke of York.

He featured in this year's Sunday Times Rich List with a fortune of £225m, enough to place him at 319 in the supplement and was recently rated the 18th richest Asian in the UK by Success magazine, which is part of the Eastern Eye family of titles.

Arora International has significant airport interests at London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports, and in 2004 Arora International landed the deal to open the only hotel at the forthcoming Terminal 5 development at Heathrow.

Personally, he is also a shareholder in Surrey's Wentworth Golf Club where he has developed in partnership with restaurateur Richard Caring a new club restaurant.
