Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year awards have been revealed, with Canteen in Spitafields being named best restaurant in London. The award, which recognises excellence and good service at independently owned restaurants, pubs and cafés and included a public vote, honours restaurant from the 10 British regions. These ten restaurants will now compete for the Restaurant of the Year award, which will be chosen by a panel of experts led by Elizabeth Carter, consultant editor of The Good Food Guide. The award will be presented at the Which? awards ceremony on 27 June at the British Museum . Carter said: “It’s fantastic to see independent restaurants throughout the UK being recognised for celebrating regional dishes and using local produce. These awards are voted for by the public, so they’re a real accolade.” Article continues below
