An award-winning tea shop in Gloucestershire has been sold off an asking price of £595,000.

The Kitchen – a double winner of the Taste of the West Gold Award – occupies a Grade II-listed, 17th century building in the High Street of Cotswold town Minchinhampton.

It operates as a 35-seat tea shop across two rooms on either side of a chimney breast. Features include a prominent bay window, beamed ceilings, stone floors, a fireplace range, and a trompe l’oeil mural.

There is a two-bedroom owners’ flat upstairs with two attic rooms and a walled garden to the rear.

The tea shop has built up a strong local repeat trade and so is not dependent on tourism.

The Cirencester office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold to Werner and Dianne Bunt, who formerly owned the Moorend Park hotel in Cheltenham.
