Gordon Ramsay to bring Kitchen Nightmares to France

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is to bring his reality TV show Kitchen Nightmares to France, with a new series featuring English-speaking restaurateurs.

Kitchen Nightmares features Ramsay visiting a failing restaurant and acting as a troubleshooter to help the eatery improve its business in just one week.

The new series, which is likely to be screened next year, will be focused on British or Irish-owned establishments based in France.

A spokeswoman said: "We're now looking for British or Irish-owned restaurants, bistros, cafés, aubereges, pubs or hotels in France that are struggling to succeed or just need help taking their business to the next level."

Establishments wanting to take part in the series should contact Gemma Driver by calling 00 33 5 53 06 74 50 or e-mailing gem@gastropod.co.uk. The deadline for entries is Saturday (7 July).

Ramsay is currently facing possible legal action from a former restaurant manager that he had fired on the US version Kitchen Nightmares.

Martin Hyde, the former general manager of Dillons, an Indian restaurant in New York, has filed a lawsuit claiming exaggerations about the restaurant's conditions made in the show will destroy its reputation and the good name of the people who worked there.
