Enterprise Inns has spent around £1m on a canalside freehouse near Bath that will be operated under a new tenancy agreement.

The Rose and Crown is a 300-year-old property on the A36 in the village of Limpley Stoke, Wiltshire, that lies within the Avon Valley. Its extensive beer garden overlooks the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Along with a main bar, the property provides a 60-seat restaurant, a games/pool room and three-bedroom owner’s accommodation.

The £485,648 turnover has a trade split of 60% food and 40% wet sales.
 
The Bristol office of Christie + Co marketed the freehold at an asking price of £995,000 on behalf of Brendan Wilkins.
